Exhibitions at my former gallery in Cologne (Gallery Desaga)

The exhibition brought together works by four compelling artists. Krimhild Becker (1940–2010) worked across photography and mixed media, exploring memory and the nature of objects. Michael Buthe (1944–1994), one of the most distinctive voices of the German post-war era, was represented with an assemblage painting and a sculpture that together created a deeply personal and spiritually charged visual world. The conceptual collective Claire Fontaine (est. 2004) presented a room installation made of tennis balls, critically examining authorship, capitalism, and political power. Cologne-based Bernadette Mittrup rounded out the exhibition with a playful yet deeply committed practice that engaged in a singular manner with the most essential aspects of painting and human existence.
